Christmas Bear

Afternoon all, I hope your week is going well.  I got up this morning and decided enough was enough and I must get on with some cleaning.....SO, I managed to get the bedrooms done before lunch but once I had sat to eat my lunch my shed was calling to me so I just had to go out and make a card (or two!!) I decided to make another christmas card and found this adorable Forever Friends stamp I had bought just after Christmas this year in the Glitter Pot sale!!! I also came across some freebie papers in some magazines a friend had given me a while ago and thought this holly paper would go so well with the image. I punched some extra holly to go along the lattice edge which I had punched with my Martha Stewart edging punch and finished off with some red jewels!

I am going to enter him into the Crafter's Companion July challenge Ho Ho Christmas
So, now he's finished it's back to the cleaning I think!!!
Have a good week, until next time.

Hello everyone
I am having a bit of a lazy day today-all my lot have been out so I have spent a good few hours out in my craft shed which had a bit of a tidy up at the weeked (long overdue I can assure you!!).Why is it that I am really tidy in almost everything else but where craft is concerned my work area looks like a tornado has hit it!! Anyway, all nice and tidy now (for a while) so I thought I'd make a new card to celebrate.
I had coloured in this Wee Stamp digi image by Sylvia Zet a little while ago but hadn't had time to put it all together. I used some pink paper from my stash and a strip of papermania grey flowery paper. I punched some butterflies and added some pearls. I really do love this image-I think she is so cute-hope you like her!

(I must say, I really do love the summer holidays as it gives me so much time to spend crafting!!)
Until next time.

Caught a Goldfish!

Afternoon all, well I have had a lovely weekend-smashing family BBQ at my brothers house yesterday and then popped down to Hastings this afternoon for fish and chips ( at this rate I will soon be looking like a piece of fish!!)
My card today was made from a card I had made ages ago and was not happy with because it looked too plain. I left it out in my shed for some time and then cut the image off and started again with stronger colour backing papers from my stash. I am a bit happier with it now. The stamp was one I had bought from Hobbycraft purely as I thought the image was cute, I coloured it in fruity citrus colours with pencils and added some punched stars and buttons.

I am going to enter him into the following challenges:

Promarker Challenge  Week 59 'feeling fruity'
Delightful Sketches Dogdays of summer
The Poodles Parlour Anything Goes

Until next time then.

Gone Fishin'

Morning all, wow, what a fantastic show London put on last night!!! Unusually for me I stayed awake all evening and loved every second of it (favourite bit just had to be the Queen and James Bond-hilarious!!!!)
I am up good and early to get ready for our BBQ but looking at the sky I think it will be indoors-good old British weather don't you just love it?????
My card today is a male card and I have used my Daisy & Dandelion stamp set for this which I coloured with my promarkers and used some papers from the new Wellington paper pack which are lovely male colours.

I am going to enter him into the following challenges:

Digidoodles #118 Let's get stripey
Paperplay challenges week 30 'sports'

Have a lovely weekend-until next time.

Make a Wish

Hello all, hope you are all well. I am having a lovely week so far and am looking forward to a lovely family BBQ tomorrow and am keeping my fingers crossed for the sun to stay with us!
I have turned a blind eye this week to the boring old cleaning and have spent some lovely time out in my craft shed trying to get ahead of myself for this school fete in September. I am really at a loss though as to how many cards I should make-if anyone has any experience or advice I would be extremely grateful!!! I also am having a headache trying to work out what sorts of cards to do-I am getting a bit worried now -I'm sure it will all work out fine but I am beginning to wonder why I volunteered for a stall!!!
My card today is using a stamp I have had for a very long time-I bought it at Hobbycraft when it first openend in town and have used it quite alot in the past as it is very good for quick Christmas cards due to lack of colouring needed!! I have added some Papermania Christmas papers and punched a snowflake and added some star gems.

Well until next time then.

First Christmas card of the year!!

Hi all, hope you are having a lovely week-I am enjoying this weather it has really come at the right time with the school holidays just beginning. I have managed to  get myself quite burned from two days at the seaside and decided today that after the usual boring jobs I would go sit in my craft shed for a little while. What I had forgotten is that the sun is full on it at this time of day so I have been roasting for the last hour or so!!! I must remember that if I want to craft I must do it in the morning!!
Well I decided that with the school fete coming up in September I should really be focusing on some Christmas cards (kind of hard to do in this weather though!!) and I dug out all of my christmas themed stamps etc.  I chose Pickle with Present from Wild Rose Studio as I love this image and coloured him with my promarkers, used some blue (my favourite colour) paper from my stash and added a little die cut snowflake for him to look at-hope you like him.
I am going to enter him into the following challenges:

Paperplay Challenges week 29- Christmas in July
Crafters Companion challenge 26 - Ho Ho Ho Christmas
Quirky Crafts challenge 15  Christmas in July  http://quirkycrafts.blogspot.co.uk/
Digi Doodles challenge 117-Anything Goes
Until next time.

Butterfly leavers card

Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the wonderful sunshine over the last couple of days-summer seems to have kicked in at last-hooray!! I have spent the last two days at the seaside-Whitstable for the Oyster Fair yesterday and Brighton today so my son could visit the huge guitar shop there (and so we could have fish and chips on the pier.....so very British lol!!!)
The summer holidays are finally here and I am  hoping to be able to spend some enjoyable craft time out in my shed. The last day at work was very sad as we had to say goodbye to so many lovely staff-two of which were quite special to me.  One of my special friends was leaving so I needed to make her a card. She is one of those people who always manages to look immaculate and pretty all of the time so I thought this butterfly card would be perfect for her. The butterfly was a topper I had in my stash and I mixed it with various papers I also had in my box-she told everyone it was her favourite leaving card so you can't ask for much more than that I guess!!

Well, I'm off to sit in the garden and make the most of the last bit of sun today-hope you are too.
Until next time.

Yellow Labrador

Afternoon all, hope this finds you all well, half way to the weekend already, just where does the time go??? I'm sure the time is going quicker the older I get!!!
The other day I was asked by a friend to make a birthday card for her husband as he really likes Golden Labradors and she couldn't find anything she liked in the shops-I was a little worried as something so specific is not always easy to do. I managed to find a good image to use and the colours matched some of the papers in the Lincoln Linen pack from Papermania and after quite a bit of changing and swapping the layouts I settled on this. My friend seemed really happy with it which was nice-just hope her hubby does too!!

Well, if I said only another 13 working hours till the summer holidays does that give you an idea of how desperate I am for the end of term???? Honestly-most people think because you work in a school you have a cushy number but I can tell you its the most stressful job I have had and it doesn't stop till the very last  minute-heres counting!!
Well better dash and shut the back door as the rain has started again (just for a change!!)
Until next time

Science teacher leaving card

Evening all, well the rain is still going strong here and even managed to cancel most of our school sports day today-such a shame!!
My second leaving card is for the science teacher who also teaches astronomy-I found this brilliant image and matched it with some space themed images too. My colleagues at work were really pleased so I needn't have worried thank goodness!!
All I have to do now is make some leaving cards for me to use!!

Have a smashing week. Until next time.

commissioned card

Afternoon all, hope your weekend has been fab. Well I am really on the countdown now to the summer holidays (so sad, I am almost counting the minutes!!!).
We have lots of staff leaving us this year and I had a commission from work on Friday-some of the lovely ladies that I work with asked me if I could make a couple of cards for them, one for the school nurse and one for the physics teacher. It has been very hard to do and I have spent the weekend panicking in case they don't like what I have come up with. This is the first one finished-for the very lovely school nurse!

I managed to find a good image on the internet and made myself some backing papers from some simple crosses and backed that with some freebie spotty papers from my Quick Cards magazine-now just got to hope they like it!!
Am nearly finished the other card so will hopefully post that tomorrow-am so looking forward to some more craft time soon!
Until next time.

Birthday Girl

Evening everyone, hope you are all having a lovely week-half way through the week already, I can't believe it!!
It was such a gorgeous sunny evening and all of my lovely lot were out so I decided to ignore the chores and go sit in my shed for a bit. This little Wee Stamp image caught my eye as well as the freebie papers which came with my last magazine issue. I coloured the image with promarkers and used some little pearls and flowers from my stash

I am going to enter her into the Totally Papercrafts challenge to 'use a digital image' http://totallypapercrafts.blogspot.co.uk/
So until next time.
